The best way to think about it is if you did your washing up in cold water your plates would still be greasy, add the hot water you are starting to make a difference- add the steam- then they would be sparkling!!
The addition of steam with high pressure means we could cut through grease without using harsh chemicals or damaging surfaces producing a sparkling effect.
The way it works is we start with cold water, which is fed into a pressure pump system which can increase the water pressure to around 3000psi. This is where we can vary the pressure to suit the surface or the cleaning requirement. This is already a very effective way of cleaning but when you add the heat and steam it adds a new dimension.
The pressured water enters a hotbox where the water is heated up to a maximum of 150ºC. From here the water is passed through the rotary cleaner or jet wand depending on the job in hand.
This super heated water will not only remove moss, algae fungi and other biological matter it also kills off any spores too so there is no need to use biocides or chemicals.
The other advantage of high pressure steam cleaning is that it uses less water so there is less water to run off which is a greener solution helping us to be more environmentally friendly as a company.
The two attachments we use are;
The Whirl away or rotary cleaner
- We use this for large areas that need to be cleaned such as driveways and carparks.
- It consist of three jets that spin around delivering a even water pressure and as this pressure is not concentrated on one point but spread over an area, there is no deterioration of the surface or a striping effect.
- The whirl away water jets are contained in the unit in such a way that reduces the water overspray and so no cleaning water is wasted.
The jet Wand
- This is where the hot high pressure water is forced through a cleaning lance.
- The pressure of the water can be so strong it can easily cut through layers of paint, grease and oil.
- The jet wand is used for detailing, harder to reach or vertical surfaces.
